In December Gibson are bringing out a Les Paul model guitar with the ability to tune it's self. It;s been coined as the worlds first robot guitar, And here is a video of the robot guitar doing it;s stuff.
Robotics is something that interests me a lot, So you can imagine my interest when i found this video of Plen the robot. Unlike other robots who build cars, Talk to people and climb stairs, Plen is able to skateboard and roller skate.
This is what happens when beer drinking adults start playing with childrens toys. We get things as amazing as the Lego bot beer opener. I'm hoping this guy makes some instructions for his Lego bot that opens beer bottles.
This is a video showing one of the latest versions of the ASIMO robot created by HONDA running. The newer versions of the ASIMO robot has a more fluid walking ability and is even able to run.
This video shows a robot named Quasi which was developed by Carnegie Mellon University. Quasi is able to hold flowing conversation with people and display emotion by changing the colour of his eyelids and antenna and moving his antenna.
The conversation quasi is having in this video is amazing, It's so good a part of me suspects there may be a person under the table, But Carnegie Mellon University aren't going to lie to us, are they?
I don't actually believe that AI is possible, But simulated intelligence is, And this bot comes as close to simulated intelligence than anything i have ever seen
Imagine being able to fabricate at home anything you like, eg laptop computer, HDTV or anything else you please. Well, in the not too distant future this may very well be possible. With nanotechnology it will be possible to use billion of tiny microscopic robots to build anything from a TV to a laptop or a t-shirt to a can opener by constructing them one molecule at a time.
Robotics in Japan is huge business, It's a statistic that every family on Japan is working on at least 6 robots at any one time, So it's understandable that they build some pretty cool robots. In this video we can see a robot chair, Or Walkbot, that you can sit in and it will walk around, and even down stairs. Good news for wheelchair users in Japan, In 10 year i predict these will be commonly used by wheelchair users instead of the regular chair.
Robots that can stand and walk under their own volition are nothing new. We've seen plenty of robots that can run around, do acrobatics, and even teach college classes. But this robot is different. The Ballbot robot is able to balance itself on one ball, moving around slowly and even staying upright when getting pushed around. The amazing balancing robot was developed by researchers at Carnegie Mellon University as a new way of having robots interact with people. While most robots have either clunky legs or a wide wheelbase, the Ballbot can roll itself around any flat surface easily, without taking up space or needing lots of room to get around.
Third world countries have trouble finding police, They tend to get kidnapped and executed by terrorists.. A robotics firm have just got a 1000 billion dollar contract to supply robocops to third world countries and this is their demonstration video. As you can see, The robocop is agile and always vigilant, So them bad guys better watch out, This robocop will 'bust a cap in ya ass'
Engineers at Cornell University have designed this odd-looking Robot that can rebuild itself and also could perform repairs on itself. I don't know what uses this machine could have, But it could become a stepping stone for other things. Looks cool though.
What's the point of having robots if you're not going to make them solve Rubik's Cube puzzles?! With all the unsolved Rubik's Cubes puzzles there are all over the planet i think it's every governments responsibility to send wave after wave of these robots into cities, streets and into peoples homes, searching out every last unsolved Rubik's Cube puzzle like some kind of robotic Rubik's Cube puzzle solving army. There is a new terror people, And it is the terror of unsolved Rubik's Cube puzzle. It's every patriotic Americans duty to to back our force of Rubik's Cube solving robots and fight for a world where our children don't have to live in fear of unsolved puzzles.
