This video shows a robot named Quasi which was developed by Carnegie Mellon University. Quasi is able to hold flowing conversation with people and display emotion by changing the colour of his eyelids and antenna and moving his antenna.
The conversation quasi is having in this video is amazing, It's so good a part of me suspects there may be a person under the table, But Carnegie Mellon University aren't going to lie to us, are they?
I don't actually believe that AI is possible, But simulated intelligence is, And this bot comes as close to simulated intelligence than anything i have ever seen
This is in fact being controlled by a human operator. The people that developed this robot aren't trying to mislead people, they openly admit it is human controlled, but unfortunately that point isn't made clear in this person's video.
I, who actually filmed this video, liked the idea that you don't know that there is a puppet master. I thought that it ruins the affect, and when I discovered it, part of me felt that I wouldn't know. I think it's nice, like the kids, to think that it works by himslef.
